Urban & Country Leisure, the multiple operator led by Ross Sanders, has bought The Globe Hotel in Warwick.

Urban & Country Leisure (UCL), the multiple operator led by Ross Sanders, has bought The Globe Hotel in Warwick for around £1.5m.

The venue is located in the centre of Warwick, around three doors down from Peach Pub Company's Rose & Crown pub.

It has 18 bedrooms, a private meeting room, a large bar and currently Thai restaurant,

UCL will invest around £1m in a refurbishment of the venue.

Managing director Ross Sanders said: "The refurbishment will see it through a transformation into Warwick's first boutique hotel with our usual pub offer on the ground floor. We will incorporate our own smokery, private wine cellar, sensational outside drinking and dining area as well as an extension to the bar.

"All bedrooms will be individually decorated to create a high quality boutique offer, priced between £75 — £95 per night.

"My funding partner on this is Downing corporate finance and our legals were carried out by Bridge House Law of Birmingham.

"Downing have been first class and are proving already to be an excellent choice of partner on our first freehold acquisition."
