Two gastropubs have been crowned regional winners in The Good Food Guide Readers' Restaurant of the Year Award.

The Wiveton Bell in Wiveton, near Holt, Norfolk and the Swan at Southrop, Gloucestershire, are among ten regional winners who will now compete for the Good Food Guide Readers' Restaurant of the Year Award.

More than 25,000 UK diners nominated their favourite restaurants, pubs and cafés for the award.

The judges were searching for independently-owned eateries that deliver excellent regional dishes and use local producers where possible.

Elizabeth Carter, consultant editor, The Good Food Guide, said: "It's so exciting to uncover hidden culinary gems that go the extra mile for their customers.

"These regional winners have shown real dedication to local produce, and they all give their diners a top quality experience."

The winner of the Good Food Guide Readers' Restaurant of the Year Award will be announced at the Which? Awards on 19 May 2010.
