Wholesaler Booker has launched a World Cup campaign includes discounted food, drink and a competition to win a TV.

Wholesaler Booker's World Cup campaign includes discounted food, drink and a competition to win a TV.

There are 200 42-inch plasma screens to be won, as well as World Cup memorabilia, such as replica shirts and footballs, all signed by football legend Sir Geoff Hurst who is fronting the campaign.

From 12 May to 13 July customers will automatically be entered in the competition to win one of the TVs every time they shop at Booker.

The wholesaler has cut prices on a range of products — a keg of Carlsberg is £66, 2kg of Clover is £4 and a case of 12 x 568ml bottles of Magners is £13.

A range of World Cup Winners — sharing platters — will be on offer to help licensees feed customers quickly and cheaply during half time. The dishes include nachos, chilli and rice and a gourmet burger and chips, with plate costs as low as 25p.

Booker will also be holding special two-day events throughout the two months with further promotions and deals.

"Booker is delighted that Sir Geoff is part of our campaign," said sales director — catering Ron Hickey.

"This is an important trading time for our customers and the deals available from branch, coupled with the trade events, will really add to their profitability.

"I hope our customers will really benefit from our promotion and the coming summer World Cup."
