Wetherspoons adds three more pubs to its portfolio
JD Wetherspoon has added three more pubs to its estate.
The managed pub operator, which recently announced it would open 42 pubs in its current financial year, down from a previously predicted 50, has completed on a former Chicago Rock Cafe site in Coventry, which has yet to open.
It has also completed on a former pub in Perranporth in Cornwall.
Completing the trio of deals is the former Swan Hotel in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, which the company plans to revamp and open as a pub.
A spokesman said the group had been keen to open what is its first site in the town for some time and noted that local dignitaries had welcomed Wetherspoons' presence. The Swan was a "landmark building" he added.
