Smokehead whisky is promoting its rock credentials by teaming up with Classic Rock magazine.

The powerful single-malt whisky, by Ian Macleod Distillers, has been named official whisky sponsor of Classic Rock magazine, and new advertising celebrates the partnership.

The adverts, which feature a skull, will appear in Classic Rock and its sister publication Prog, throughout 2010.

"Combining its adventurous and modern packaging, with a rich rollercoaster of challenging flavours, Smokehead defies conformity and what people would traditionally expect from an award-winning single-malt whisky," said marketing director Iain Weir.

"Smokehead is powerful, intense and not for the faint hearted. The perfect match for a

Classic Rock lover."

Smokehead is also now an official VIP sponsor for the magazine's rock event, London's High Voltage Festival (24-25 July), and the Classic Rock Roll of Honour 2010 Awards in November.
