The iconic Black Lion Hotel in Cardigan, Ceredigion, Mid Wales, has been put up for sale just over a year after it was taken over.

The former coaching inn closed in January 2008 and was put on the market by owners Marston's Brewery.

Community leaders expressed concern that the continued closure was having a detrimental effect on the town centre.

Peter and Anne Phillips, of Crymych, Dyfed, acquired the property at the end of April last year and extensive refurbishment work was carried out before the hotel re-opened in June.

The 14-bedroom hotel, located in the centre of the historic market town of Cardigan, is advertised for sale by agent Sidney Phillips at an asking price of £775,000.
