The National Brewery Centre in Staffordshire will be officially opened by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, next month.

The Burton upon Trent Centre, opening on 21 September, includes the former Bass Museum and visitor attraction now reopened as The Brewing Experience. It displays the heritage of brewing in the UK.

"It's fitting that The Princess Royal carries out this role, as I understand that she opened our first incarnation, The Bass Museum, on its inception in 1977," said Mike Stickland, chairman of Planning Solutions — the company in charge of the Centre.

"This royal visit will mean a lot to the people of Burton and all of the team here that have worked so hard to reopen the facilities and create The Brewing Experience. This will certainly bring further awareness to this valuable heritage centre."

The site of the Centre was more recently the Coors Visitor Centre, which closed in 2008.
