JD Wetherspoon has completed a return to its spiritual trading home by buying an All Bar One site very close to its first ever pub in London's Muswell Hill.

The managed company completed legal work on buying the All Bar One venue, on the corner of The Broadway and Crouch End, last night.

Wetherspoon sold its first-ever site, Marler's, more than 20 years ago.

The All Bar One venue, which has traded for 13 years, closed on Sunday.

A Wetherspoon source said: "It has been a long time ambition to have a pub in Crouch End. It's a very, very busy area and there are not many sites available, so from the company's point of view we were delighted this has come to fruition."

The All Bar one acquisition is a one-off — not part of a larger package of Mitchells & Butlers pubs.
