Get expert advice at Responsible Drinks Retailing conference
Valuable advice and updates on best practice will be delivered by a host of experts from across the industry at the seventh annual Responsible Drinks Retailing (RDR) Conference.
The day-long event, hosted by the Morning Advertiser and its sister title Off Licence News, takes place on Wednesday 10 November at the Sheraton Park Lane, London.
Tickets are free and are available now. The Conference is supported by Diageo, Drink-aware, the British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA), JD Wetherspoon and the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS).
The conference will begin with insights from the people behind the high-profile Newquay Safe Partnership scheme, which this year focused on the problem of under-18s who want to drink in the popular resort.
Alistair Turnham, of licensing and night-time economy specialists MAKE — which has advised the Government on various issues — will discuss how the authorities and the industry are working together to create safe and vibrant entertainment spaces.
The BBPA's chief executive Brigid Simmonds and Noctis executive director Paul Smith will present evidence on best practice in the sector. Michael Kheng, of previous RDR award winner Kurnia, will also speak.
Chris Sorek, chief executive of Drinkaware, will report on the progress made in raising consumers' awareness of what amounts to responsible consumption.
There will also be updates from PASS chairman Robert Humphreys and Best Bar None chief Neil Robertson.
Bill Donne of the award-winning Reading Pubwatch will discuss the good work being carried out by the group to promote a safe and vibrant bar scene.
There will also be break-out sessions on specific topics, a lively panel discussion and the unveiling of the RDR Award winners.
More speakers are set to be announced soon. For more information call 01293 610396 or see www.responsibledrinksretailing.co.uk .
