Westminster pubs most profitable in the UK
Westminster has the most profitable on-trade of all UK towns and cities at £2bn a year, according to new research.
Night-time economy specialists MAKE and research consultancy TBR conducted the Night-Mix Index survery, which looks at the value and impact of the UK's night-time economy.
Birmingham, Manchester, Camden, Glasgow and Leeds were found to have the next most valued night-time economy, with London boroughs Hounslow and Brent cited as "major climbers".
The night-time economy employs 1.3 million people and is worth around £66bn a year to the UK, dwarfing the costs incurred by alcohol-related problems of £6bn, as estimated by Home Secretary Theresa May.
