Carlsberg launches VAT calculator to help pubs
Carlsberg UK has added a VAT calculator to its We Deliver More website to help licensees deal with the January increase.
On 4 January VAT is set to rise from 17.5% to 20% and the new calculator will help licensees work out their gross profit and cash margin at both the 17.5% and 20% rate.
Carlsberg customer marketing director David Scott said the move was designed to help customers achieve more from their business.
"The VAT increase in January could be a headache for licensees and a drain on their time," he said.
"The VAT calculator is a simple but hugely effective tool to help licensees plan for the changes to help them ensure they don't suffer a drop in gross profit margin in that difficult post-Christmas period simply because of a VAT hike."
The website also provides tips and hints about how to communicate the price change to customers and staff.
