JD Wetherspoon is extending its afternoon food deal with a new dish.

Gammon steak, free-range eggs, chips and a cup of tea will join the £2.99 fish & chips and a cup of tea deal launched in February 2008.

The deal runs Monday to Friday from 2pm to 5pm and the gammon will be available on the new menu launched on 20 October.

The company sells an average 18,000 afternoon fish & chips deals per week and has sold 240,000 since launch.

The new menu also sees pancakes with bacon and maple-flavour syrup added to the breakfast offer and a 4oz beef burger added to the childrens' menu.
