Marston's has so far paid more than £200,000 in finder's fees to property agents, as it scours the UK for the best new-build sites.

The company has opened 15 new pubs in the past 12 months and is on track to develop a further 20 before the end of 2011. Its overall target is to open 135 new-build pubs by 2015.

Marston's has been paying a reward fee of £30,000 per time to property agents who come up with suitable sites.

An advert in Estates Gazette states: "Marston's legal team will attend meetings anywhere in the UK to secure the best sites, which are secured quickly, smoothly and without any problems.

"We're looking for prominent locations adjacent to business/retail parks, supermarkets, hotels and large housing developments, preferably on 'A' roads or roundabouts."
