Ever wanted to celebrate someone who makes your pub special but not known how to go about it?

Well help is at hand thanks to The Publican teaming-up with WaverleyTBS to give you the chance to recognise and reward your own pub's Local Hero.

Maybe you have a member of staff who goes way beyond the call of duty, a customer who has overcome huge barriers in their life or someone who always helps create the perfect atmosphere.

Whatever the reason you can celebrate your own Local Hero with a beer brewed in their honour that you can proudly sell from your bar.

Last year's Local Heroes included a pub dog, a Paralympics champion and a pub cribbage team.

All you have to do to celebrate your own hero this year is order a firkin of beer from WaverleyTBS and you will also receive a bespoke pumpclip with any image and name you request.

And each month the most original Local Hero will be featured in The Publican - with the pub also receiving another firkin of the beer for free.

Roy Silsby, cask beer manager for WaverleyTBS, said: "We're hoping that our Local Hero initiative catches the imagination of great cask ale pubs.

"It's an opportunity to celebrate the efforts of staff, customers and teams associated with pubs and a chance to gather some local PR about great cask ale and great community pubs at the same time."

The beer supplied - a session beer between 3.6 and 3.9 % ABV - will be from top regional brewers - Marston's, Greene King, Thwaites, Wadworth and Wells & Young's.

So what are you waiting for? To get your Local Hero order in call WaverleyTBS on 0844 556 2566 or visit waverleytbs
