The winning pubs in the AA Hospitality Awards 2010 have been announced — the Black Swan at Oldstead, North Yorkshire, is Pub of the Year.

The award-winning pubs in the AA Hospitality Awards 2010 have been announced.

The Black Swan at Oldstead, North Yorkshire, has been named AA Pub of the Year for England at the awards.

The freehold is owned by Tom, Anne, James and Tommy Banks. The site received a Michelin Rising Star award earlier this year.

AA hotel services group manager Giovanna Grossi said: "We selected the Black Swan as AA Pub of the Year for England because this family-run pub has real character.

"Some top-notch innkeeping, great food, real ales and beautifully appointed accommodation make this a real destination pub that is well worthy of a detour."

The Sun Inn in Eskbank, Edinburgh, won AA Pub of the Year for Scotland and the award for Wales went to freehold the Swan Inn, Little Haven, Pembrokeshire.

The Swan Inn is owned by Tracy and Paul Morris. The head chef is Andrew Swales, whose menu has a strong seafood focus.

The AA Restaurant of the Year for Wales went to Stephen Terry's the Hardwick, in Abergavenny, Gwent, which holds a Michelin bib gourmand.
