Carlsberg has recalled some bottles of Tuborg over fears they may contain small shards of glass.

The brewer said the recall was caused by an "isolated issue" at its bottle supplier's factory, which could lead to the "potential presence of small pieces of glass within the bottles".

The affected bottles were sold in the off-trade.

It is recalling the following products:

• Tuborg 8 x 275ml bottle packs — Lot codes: B0260N A, B0261N A, B0262N A, B0260N B, B0261N B, B0262N B

• Lot codes: B0260N A, B0261N A, B0262N A, B0260N B, B0261N B, B0262N B

The lot code is printed on the label on the back of the bottle.

Carlsberg said: "Product recall notices have been shown in stores that sell the product, explaining why the product has been recalled and how customers can get a full refund.

"Carlsberg UK will place adverts in the national press today, Tuesday 2 November 2010.

"No other Carlsberg UK products are known to be affected."
