A Newcastle based Ladhar Group nightclub is putting in place a code of conduct after a fetish night and live sex show landed it in hot water with authorities.
An investigation was launched after people complained about an X-rated show on 2 October at Legends that included a naked man being placed in stocks by two semi-naked girls. They then appeared to perform a lewd sex act on him.
Other scenes involved masked men having candle wax dripped on them with clamps applied to their upper bodies and someone whose head appeared to be drilled.
A meeting was held last week between Ladhar's lawyers, the Newcastle council and Northumbria police.
"At the meeting it was accepted that there was no evidence of criminal activity or breach of licence conditions," said a spokesman for Ladhar.
"However, to reassure the authorities that similar events in the future will continue to be operated responsibly my client is to carry out a risk assessment and adopt a code of conduct for such events.
"This will ensure that customers attending the venue are aware of what type of event they are about to see and that the entertainment meets the licensing objectives. The code is still being drafted."
A council spokesman added: "Following discussions with the Ladhar Group the licensing authority are expecting a variation to the premises licence to be submitted to ensure this type of activity does not occur again in the future."
