Mark Hastings has left his position as British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) communications director.

Mark Hastings has left his position as British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) communications director.

In a statement released today, the BBPA said Hastings left on 12 November (Friday).

In the statement, Hastings said: "After more than a decade with the Association, I feel the time is right to move on.

"During my time in the industry I have worked on many interesting and challenging issues and with many fantastic people, whom I would like to thank for their help and support over the years.

"I am looking forward to a break over Christmas and spending some time enjoying being a dad to my kids. In the New Year I will be turning my attention to pursuing some new public affairs opportunities."

BBPA chief executive Brigid Simmonds said, "I would like to place on record the Association's thanks to Mark for the considerable contribution he has made to enhancing the industry's profile, positioning and reputation in his role as director of communications.

"We would like convey our very best wishes to him as he moves on to pursue other opportunities."

BBPA members have been told of Hasting's departure in an email today.
