A former Walkabout hotel in Bristol has been re-let to Brooks Hotels for an undisclosed sum.

The 27 en-suite bedroom property formerly operated as a Walkabout Budget Hotel but ceased trading in June last year when Regent Inns lapsed into administration.

The hotel, which is situated behind a separately owned and operated Walkabout Bar, also features a reception, small courtyard and roof top area.

Andrew and Carla Brooks of Brooks Hotels, who also run the award-winning Brooks Guest House in Bath, intend to create a boutique bed and breakfast offering contemporary style accommodation, with professional, friendly service at great prices.

Jonathan Hill, director at Christie + Co's Bristol Office, said: "This is an exciting new hotel development in Bristol. Andrew and Carla are planning to replicate their successful boutique bed and breakfast operation, Brooks Guest House, in the centre of Bristol.

"They feel there is a gap in the market for this type of accommodation in central Bristol and we wish them every success with their new venture."
