An enterprising mum has teamed up with a microbrewery and her local pub in a bid to help her son's football team.

Vicky Mullis is launching Tinwistle Village Ale after teaming up with Howard Town brewery, in Glossop, Derbyshire.

The beer, a variation on the award-winning Wrens Nest, will be sold at the Bulls Head pub in the village and at Tinwistle Primary School's Christmas Fair.

Vicky is aiming to raise £300 with the cash going towards paying for a new football kit for her son Freddie's team.

"I love Wrens Nest and the boys at the brewery have been so helpful," she said. "I can't thank them enough."

If the beer for the school takes off, Vicky is hoping that she can eventually develop her own ale through the brewery.
