Brothers launch 'revolutionary' three flavour font

Brothers cider has launched its first draught product - a font which can dispense three different flavours, The Publican​ can reveal.

The font dispenses pear cider and syrups which can be added to create Strawberry, Toffee Apple and Lemon flavours.

It has been hailed by Brothers sales and marketing manager Phil Plowman as "a genuine piece of innovation and a category first".

Though the company has seven varieties of its pear cider currently available in bottles, it has only ever offered draught cider at the Glastonbury Festival.

Cider from the font will be 4.7 per cent ABV and not the festival strength seven per cent liquid.

"The concept was to take our Glastonbury draught experience to an individual pub," said Plowman.

"It's something which is a genuine piece of innovation and looks like nothing else our competitors have launched.

"It's about setting the on-trade apart from the off-trade and creating a bit of theatre.

"Because it is so different it can help drive footfall and bring new people into the pub. Trials have gone extremely well."

The Mitchells & Butlers-owned chain Scream has rolled it out across its estate after having been the first to trial it.

It has already been installed at the Slug and Lettuce at London's 02, where Brothers is the official supplier of pear and flavoured ciders.

Plowman confirmed the company was currently in discussions with other major pub operators to install the font early next year.
