No Saints, the new company operated by former Luminar boss Steve Thomas, is planning to open a large burlesque club, with a troupe of resident dancing girls, in Cambridge city centre.

The company is planning to open its Greene Room caberet bar concept in the former Gala Bingo Hall in Hobson Street. It will have five resident burlesque dancers.

No Saints, based in Milton Keynes, has submitted an alcohol licence application to Cambridge City Council.

Company representatives are set to meet with police to discuss the application, which is in a cumulative impact zone.

The Greene Room will also put on live shows including jazz, soul, comedy nights and fashion shows. Lucy Herlihy, company spokeswoman, told a local newspaper: "It will be fantastic for Cambridge which is perfect for what we have planned for the venue.

"It will be like nothing you have ever seen before. The Greene Room attracts the over 25s market with a sophisticated 'feel like a celebrity' experience.

"The all-seated venue offers exclusive table service alongside cutting-edge entertainment. The Greene Room will be home to the 'Resident Dollz', a troupe of cabaret dancers complementing the main act of the evening.

"The costumes for the Resident Dollz in Milton Keynes alone will be costing in excess of £25,000 and will be new age vaudeville and burlesque with a contemporary vision - a mix of Vegas meets Paris."

The first Greene Room is slated to open in Milton Keynes later this year. A licensing hearing for the venue will be held at the Guildhall on 17 January. The proposed site closed in June 2009.
