The lucky finalists in the Great British Pub Food Awards' Pub Chef of the Year 2011 competition have been announced.

The 34 chefs will compete in cook-off finals in nine different categories.

These start on 24 January at Unilever's Knorr kitchens in Leatherhead, Surrey.

The winners will be announced on 10 March at an awards night at London's Plaisterers' Hall.

The four pubs in the team award are David Deacon and Sherrie Gadd, of the Shoulder of Mutton, Kirkby Overblow, North Yorkshire; Richard Knighting and Ross Shaw, of the Marlborough Tavern, Bath, north-east Somerset; Philip Milner and Robert Taylor, of the Orange Tree, in Thornham, Norfolk; and Jean-Philippe Bidart and Georgia Johnson, of the Millbrook Inn, South Pool, Devon.

Finalists in the seafood category are Ben Kingdon, of the Cary Arms, Babbacombe, Devon; Harry Kodagoda, chef/director at the Fox at Willian, Hertfordshire; and Robin Syndercombe, of the Duke of Cumberland, Henley, West Sussex.

The three finalists in the Young Pub Chef category are George Allan of the Cock, Hemingford Grey, Cambridgeshire; Lewis Burrell, of the Pelican Inn, Tacolneston, Norfolk; and Lee Tyler, of the Wildebeest Arms, Stoke Holy Cross, Norfolk.

Game category finalists are Darryn Asher, of the Crown Inn, Roecliffe, North Yorkshire; Richard Knighting of the Marlborough Tavern, Bath; and Debbie Nicholls, of the Somerset Arms, Semington, Wiltshire.

The curry finalists are Indunil Upatissa, of the Noel Arms Hotel, Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire; Michael Weston-Cole, of Bowland Village Inns, Churchtown, Lancashire; and Dale Wild, of the Plough Inn, Burton Salmon, West Yorkshire.

Roast finalists are Dan Altwasser, of the One Elm, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire; Fergus Mackay, Dog and Bull, Coton, Whitchurch, Shropshire; and Rebecca White, of the Full Moon, Morton, Nottinghamshire.

Chefs in the fish and chips final are Justin Brown, of the Sun Inn, Dummer, Hampshire; Mathieu Eke, of the Helyar Arms, East Coker, Somerset; and Greg Palmer, of the Hatch Inn, Colemans Hatch, East Sussex.

Dessert category finalists include Christopher Hill, of the Aldwark Arms, Aldwark, North Yorkshire; Gareth Knights, of the Crown, Southwold, Suffolk; and Andy Snowling, of the Hunny Bell, Hunworth, Norfolk.

Chefs in the meat award category are Gareth Darvell, of the Millbrook Inn, South Pool; Karl Mainey, of the Crown Inn, Roecliffe; and Ross Tregidgo, of the Harris Arms, Portgate, Devon.
