Fair Pint's Harrison to provide own Brulines report
A leading Fair Pint member will be able to provide his own expert evidence on Brulines for the High Court to consider alongside the report compiled by the National Measurement Office (NMO) on behalf of the beer flow monitoring company.
The NMO report, funded by Brulines, was released last month and Brulines claimed it proved the accuracy of its equipment. However, the NMO made no conclusion on its report.
Fair Pint member Karl Harrison is embroiled with Enterprise Inns in a complex case over the accuracy and lawfulness of the equipment at the Bedford in Balham.
Enterprise Inns has made no allegations nor offered any evidence of "buying out" by Harrison's company in this case.
The court has given Harrison permission to provide his own expert evidence to help the court decide whether the equipment is accurate or not. The Morning Advertiser first revealed that Fair Pint would commission the NMO to undertake further tests on Brulines equipment in pubs, last month.
"This preliminary decision by the High Court puts paid to the idea that Brulines has secured any kind of definitive approval for its kit or confirmation of any accuracy," said Harrison.
"The NMO has simply provided data on some equipment installed by Brulines staff at their offices. It was paid to do it as a private commission. We're interested in the equipment that is actually installed in pubs and how it is operated there."
He added: "The NMO has publicly stated that it has drawn no conclusions from the data and has provided no approvals at all. Brulines and Enterprise Inns might have wanted that but they don't have it. "
