Greene King IPA has extended its sponsorship of the RFU and secured its title as the 'Official Beer of England Rugby' for another year.

The partnership, which will last until the end of the 2011/12 season, is Greene King's sixth year of sponsorship with the RFU.

Dom South, marketing director for Greene King Brewing Company, said: "When it [Greene King IPA] became Official Beer, supporters welcomed the opportunity to buy a 'proper pint' as part of the matchday experience."

South added: "The RBS 6 Nations is a fantastic chance for pubs up and down the country to capitalise on the excitement around rugby - and with the World Cup just around the corner, there is every incentive to build on the relationship between Greene King IPA and the England team."

At Twickenham's Rose and Crown pub marquee, Greene King IPA outsells lager by more than 20 per cent, according to the Suffolk brewer. The Rose and Crown will open again on 12 February as England entertain Italy in the RBS 6 Nations.

Greene King IPA's rugby ambassador, and World Cup winner, Lawrence Dallaglio will be giving fans the inside track on England's performances throughout 2011 with exclusive blogs and video interviews at: www.greenekingipa.co.uk
