Top gastropub owners speak at Freehouse 500
The owner of the winning pub in the Morning Advertiser's Top 50 Gastropubs 2010 is among the speakers at the next Freehouse 500 business club meeting.
Jacquie Pern, co-owner of the Star Inn, Harome, North Yorkshire, will be sharing business insights on 21 March at the Olde Bell, Hurley, Berkshire.
Other speakers include BII Licensee of the Year 2010 finalist Darran Lingley, who will share ideas on promotions, wine and jukeboxes.
Licensee Rebecca White, owner of the Full Moon, Morton, Nottinghamshire, will talk about the pub's mobile fish and chip van and capitalising on the wedding market.
Host venue the Olde Bell will share their vision for the future of hotels and insights on attracting families and hosting innovative events.
All Beer's flavour expert Alex Barlow and Tom Foddy of Wells & Young's discuss tips to make beer and food easy for you including the benefits of pairing guest beers with menu specials.
Alec Howard managing director of consultancy Planet Food and former head of food & restaurants at Hall & Woodhouse offers market insights and tips on getting and keeping your food offer right and Paul Scarratt, general manager of drinks supplier ViVas will offer tips on how to sell more wine.
Coca-Cola Enterprises' Barbara Johnson will focus on the importance of quality in soft drinks.
