Posh pies for St Patrick's Day and Royal Wedding

Pie maker Pieminister has launched two limited edition pies and a number of special offers for those wanting to celebrate St Patrick's Day, the royal wedding and British Pie Week, which runs from March 7 - 13.

The Shamrock pie, which includes British beef steak slow-cooked in 'famous Irish stout' until tender has been released for St Patrick's Day on March 17. Orders should be placed before March 7.

The Kate and Wills commemorative pie is suitably rich and is made with British beef, wine, bacon, pearl onions, mushrooms and a dash of brandy. Both pies weigh 270g with a wholesale price of £2.30 for the Shamrock pie, and £2.60 for the Kate and Wills pie.

In addition, the company is launching a range of sweet pies in March. Flavours include Oh What a Lovely Pear pie, which includes poached pears, rum and fair-trade chocolate, Adam's Apple pie, which uses raspberries and apples and Toffee Apple pie, which includes Bramley and Cox apples with toffee sauce.

New customers who place a wholesale order before March 7 will receive a free box of 24 Kate and Wills pies to add to pub menus.

And in addition, to champion another great British institution, the pub quiz, Pieminister will send a free Pieminister pie quiz goody bundle worth £75 to new and existing customers celebrating Pie Week. It includes a selection of pie-related quiz questions, a Pieminister trophy, limited edition t-shirts, aprons, badges and balloons.

Pieminister will also supply participating pubs with a range of point-of-sale material including menus and posters. Orders for pies should be placed before April 7 to be eligible.
