New pubco is family affair

A father-and-daughter team has set up a new pub company with plans for 10 sites.

The Seafood Pub Company opens Daniel Thwaites' lease the Oyster & Otter in Feniscowles, near Blackburn, Lancashire, in March.

Chris Neve has 40 years' experience of supplying seafood, and Joycelyn has front-of-house experience.

The Neves are already looking at two other sites with a business plan to take on eight to 10 freeholds within the next five years.

The Oyster & Otter has had a £600,000 refurbishment, with investment from the Neves and Thwaites. The

site can accommodate 140 covers, with a further 60 outside on a new terrace.

Two Champagne and oyster events will be hosted before the pub officially opens on 7 March with a family day. The pub will specialise in seafood supplied by Chris, while family friends will provide poultry, pork and lamb.

The menu comprises starters, grilled dishes, main courses and sandwiches. Dishes include tiger prawns rubbed with sea salt and chilli with mixed leaves, tomato, lime and avocado salsa (£14.50).

Traditional pub food includes fish & chips (£8.50) and tuna steak with creamed spinach and lemon (£14.50).
