Everards is giving customers the chance to have their say on the planned revamp of Nottinghamshire pub via an on-line blog.

The Newcastle Arms, based in Southwell - part of Everard's Project William, where the tie is relaxed on cask ale - is due to re-open as the Final Whistle in April.

Everards managing director Stephen Gould said: "The Newcastle Arms has been on a steady decline for a number of years and given it's potential, it is a real shame. We want the Final Whistle to be a pub which locals can be proud of by giving it a completely new look and identity.

"The blog is a way of keeping the local community up to date and involved in the refurbishment - we are welcoming any queries or suggestions people may have."

The blog can be seen at www.everards.co.uk/thefinalwhistle.
