Young's has opened a new pub in Kingston-upon-Thames after a £220,000 refurbishment.

The Bishop Out of Residence accommodates 165 covers across the bar area, River Room lounge and the Red Room, plus a further 60 on the outside terrace.

The head chef is Thomas White, who has worked under Marco Pierre White and Morgan Meunier.

His British menu includes starters such as Scottish smoked salmon with shallot, cornichons, chopped hard boiled egg, capers & lemon wrap (£6) and mains such as lamb's liver (£10.50) pot-roasted free-range chicken (£12.50) as well as pub favourites including bangers & mash and fish & chips.

Sandwiches are available from £4.50, pizzas from £7, sharing dishes from £3 and snacks including pork scratchings, Scotch eggs and courgette chips from £2.50.

Coffee is served with shot glasses of retro sweets such as jelly babies.

The cheese table offers leading British varieties and the pub has a big emphasis on Sunday roasts.

The two function rooms can be booked for private parties and a DJ spins the wheels at weekends.
