JD Wetherspoon has been praised for its corporate responsibility strategy for the eleventh year in a row.

The pubco is included in the FTSE4GoodIndex, which is published by FTSE Group and based on indices that cover issues such as environmental policy and good governance.

Wetherspoons head of corporate affairs Caroline Walters said: "This is a wonderful achievement for the company.

"It highlights Wetherspoons' efforts in working towards environmental sustainability, developing positive relationships with stakeholders, and upholding and supporting universal human rights.

"We continue to improve in all of these areas, which are of great importance to ourselves, our customers and pour suppliers."

A FTSE4GoodIndex spokesman added: "Today, institutional investors around the world are increasingly focused on considering the environmental, social and governance practices of the companies they invest in."
