Young's opens Oliver Twist pub
Young's has re-opened an 18th century London pub, famous for its mention in Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist.
The Coach and Horses in Isleworth has kept many original features including the glass plating, saloon bar signage in the bar and sketches and photography of the local area depicting Dickensian London.
The main room holds 30 people with 45 more in the dining room, 15 in the atrium and a large patio terrace outside.
Trained chef Karen Paxton is general manager and she has created a British breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.
Early morning diners can order a variety of continental and cooked breakfasts from £3, while the lunch menu features 'nibbles' such as prawns and breads from £4, seafood and meat sharers from £13, sandwiches from £5 and main meals from £10.
The dinner menu features dishes such as ballantine of chicken, tagliatelle, mushroom and tarragon sauce (£12) and garlic and herb crusted rump of lamb, crushed new potatoes, redcurrant and port jus (£15).
The children's menu offers a main dish and scoop of ice cream for £6 and bar snacks, such as homemade pork scratchings, honey and mustard-coated sausage rolls and scampi with tartare sauce, are available at all times served up in half-pint jugs,
Young's cask ales will be served at the bar, as well as a range of international wines.
