A West Yorkshire microbrewery has teamed up with a local butcher to create homemade steak pies.

Nookie Pies are now on the menu at J Brindon Addy Butchers in Hade Edge, Holmfirth, following the link-up with the Nook Brewhouse, which is based at the Rose and Crown pub, also in Holmfirth.

The steak pies are made in-house using prime local beef and Nook Oat Stout, as are Nook sausages. Hade Edge Black is dry-cured streaky bacon marinaded in Nook Oat Stout, treacle and sugar.

"All three products are going down great guns," said shop owner Brindon Addy.

Sheila Sutton, of the Nook Brewhouse, said: "Nook Oat Stout is a full-flavoured oaty stout with hints of liquorice and roasted flavours.

"Brindon Addy is one of the best-known butchers in Britain and it's good to see two Kirklees businesses putting their heads together to work in this innovative way."
