London operator Drake & Morgan is getting ready to launch its fifth site — the Drift at London's newly developed Heron's Tower — on 4 July.

The 5,770 square foot, 250-cover venue includes two bars spread over two floors, floor to ceiling windows, an open plan kitchen with a chef's table, as well and a garden area. It also features a seafood bar and an antipasti area and deli showcasing cured hams, continental cheeses and freshly baked breads, all sourced from local producers.

The upstairs restaurant and kitchen provides views of Europe's largest privately-owned aquarium in the Heron Tower lobby.

The bar will cater for brunches and light lunches with sharing plates and main meals alongside an extensive wine list with wine flights available for tasting. Premium spirits, beers and Drake & Morgan's signature 'skinny cocktails' will also be available in a similar food and drink offer to the other sites. The average price per head is £20 and the venue will open from 7.30am until late Monday to Friday and from 10am at weekends.

"I'm thrilled to be launching our fifth site, the Drift," said managing director Jillian MacLean. "Since the successful launch of the Folly and the Anthologist, both in the City, customers have been giving us some great feedback and we know there is scope to develop cutting edge bars in the Square Mile. Having visited Istanbul and Beirut for inspiration we aim to provide the City with a refreshingly independent bar that includes a couple of unexpected touches."
