The Famous Grouse is to follow up its 2010 Famous Pubs campaign by launching a new search this year, in conjunction with the Daily Telegraph.

The campaign by the iconic whisky brand, which is backed by distributors Maxxium UK, will look for famous pubs around the UK that are celebrated for their unique reasons for fame.

Last year's finalists included King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow, The Neuadd Arms in Wales, and the Robin Hood in Brighton.

Paul Waterson, president of the Scottish Licensed Trade Association (SLTA), will sit on this year's judging panel alongside Maxxium UK sales director, Jim Grierson and mixologist, Andy Gemmell.

Grierson said: " We believe in the on-trade, we want to support them and that's why we are thrilled to announce the launch of The Famous Grouse Famous Pubs campaign this year."

Gemmell added: "The campaign is a great reward initiative for the on-trade and was a huge success last year, with hundreds of nominations received, so I urge publicans to get involved, nominate their pub and share the reason for its fame."

Each winning pub will receive a limited edition plaque and feature in a special supplement that will run in The Sunday Telegraph.

The closing date for nominations is the 18 September. Nominations can be made at www.telegraph.co.uk/famousgrouse
