Young's spends £1m on Surrey pub
Young's has opened its latest pub following a £1m refurbishment.
The Home Cottage in Redhill, Surrey, is food focused with a mixture of light Mediterranean-inspired dishes and British pub classics.
The pub has been refurbished using a blue and green theme with Chesterfield armchairs, patterned wallpapers and "snug corners".
The bar area seats 40 with a further 60 in the dining room. French doors lead to a large, heated outside space with a 50-cover terrace and 40-cover patio.
Darren Patterson and wife Jen will manage the venue with head chef Angelo Brotto.
Dishes include crayfish and rocket with marie rose sauce (£5.95), grilled steak with caramelised onion, plum tomato and chutney (£7.95) and Young's beer battered cod, chips & mushy peas with tartare sauce (£10.50). A seperate Sunday menu offers a range of Sunday roasts and other main dishes.
There is also a 'light lunch' section featuring goat's cheese and courgette tart with watercress, green beans and potato dressed with pesto oil (£5.75) and a children's menu with smaller portions of adult dishes and mini roast dinners on Sundays.
This year marks the brewer's 180th birthday and brand activity is planned for September.
