Manchester-based brewer and pub operator JW Lees has bought the freehold of a West Yorkshire pub from Blue Moon Pub Company, the firm run by former JD Wetherspoon managers Lee Roberts and Sarah Dinning, for an undisclosed sum.

The Turnpike Inn at Rishworth Moor features six bedrooms and a large function room. The sale was handled by Fleurets.

Simon Lees-Jones, director of property at JW Lees, said: "We are delighted with the acquisition of this high quality destination food house. It was brought to us in an offmarket deal through Fleurets and we were told it was something we should take a serious look at."

JW Lees currently has 172 pubs. Blue Moon began by leasing two pubs from Enterprise Inns, the Malthouse, Rishworth, and the Sun, Lightcliffe, and runs another, the Honest Lawyer in Ripponden, with local property developer Adrian Burr.
