Jim Walsh funeral details released
The funeral of respected pub operator and industry figure Jim Walsh will take place next Wednesday, 24 August at 1.30pm at Ampleforth Abbey in York.
The subsequent cremation will be at York Crematorium and is principally for family and close friends.
The family will then join those attending the funeral at Hazlewood Castle for 3.30 p.m.
Walsh founded the Commer Group in 1989, originally as a temporary management company. In 1996 he founded the tenanted pub company Commer Inns, which he sold in 2001. He then established Tadcaster Pub Company with James Crawfurd-Porter, which is also part of the Commer Group.
The family has requested that they do not want the funeral to be an overly sombre occasion and have asked that people do not wear black.
The family has requested that instead of flowers donations can be made to:
St Gemma's Academic Unit, St Gemma's Hospice, 329 Harrogate Road, Moortown
Leeds, LS17 6QD
