The team behind well-known London pub the Euston Tap at Euston station, which specialises in unusual and niche beers, are to open a dedicated cider pub opposite.

The Cider Tap, which is expected to open on 14 November, is to serve more than 100 draught and bottled ciders from the UK and France.

The Euston Tap is known for shunning well-known brands from international producers in favour of less well known and more niche brews.

“The Cider Tap will be for cider what the Euston Tap is for beer,” said Tony Lennon, general manager of the Euston Tap. “The Euston Tap has got a very good reputation and the Cider Tap is an extension of what we are doing.”

The pubs are part of a joint venture between Blooms-bury Leisure, operator of the Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, plus pub operator Jamie Hawksworth.

The group already operates another site at a railway station, the Sheffield Tap, and a bar in York called Pivni. Its next pub, the York Tap at York station, is to open next week, with the Cambridge Tap due to open later this year. The sites at train stations are held on leases from Network Rail.
