Living Ventures Management, the restaurant and bar company led by entrepreneurs Tim Bacon and Jeremy Roberts, will open its latest venture in Manchester — Peppermint Bay, a café-deli concept — next week.

The new venue, which will open in the Spinningfields area of the city, is named after a bay near Bacon’s home in Tasmania, Australia, and will feature 70-covers internally and an outdoor terrace. Developed under the name Marmalade, the café will offer a range of snacks and drinks, including flatbreads and salads.

The opening of Peppermint Bay comes just over a month after the launch of the group’s first pub, the Oast House, also in Spinningfields. Living Ventures set up the New World Pub Company to oversee the new venture and it is thought that the group is exploring the option of also opening a pub on the site of the Olive Press in Liverpool.

The opening of Peppermint Bay will take the number of sites operated by Bacon under Living Ventures and through his other vehicle New World Bar Co to 26, which includes units under the Gusto, Red Door and Blackhouse bar and restaurant formats. It is also thought to have a couple more openings in Manchester lined up for next year.
