The sandwich celebrates 250 years
UK consumers eat more than 11 billion sandwiches a year, making it a £6bn market. Over three billion of these are bought ready-to-eat.
The Association is launching new website www.lovesarnies.com and a new logo to be used in campaign activity throughout the year.
From March it will highlight a Sandwich of the Month with recipes and PoS available for caterers to take part. The first will coincide with Bacon Connoisseurs Week’s red, white & bacon theme.
From February the Association will launch a monthly competition with prizes such as a holiday in Hawaii. There will also be an online consumer magazine launched in March will information about sandwiches and the planned events.
