Feast, the Gloucestershire-based premium catering and hospitality company, is to operate its first pub after securing the Swan in Berkshire.

The company, which part of the CHA Group, the award-winning marketing, PR and consultancy firm, will close the Great Shefford-based pub for two weeks at the start of next year for a revamp before re-opening on 13 January.

The pub will be overseen by Ned Bowron, hospitality director at Feast. Bowron, who has over 25 years’ experience in catering and hospitality industry, will be joined at the pub by chefs Gareth Jones and Artur Da Silva.

They plan to offer a quality gastro pub menu “shaped to suit local tastes”.

Bowron said: “We are thrilled to bring the Swan back to life. The Swan has a very strong local history and by working closely with local suppliers and recruiting local staff we want to pursue what has been done and achieved in the past and take it a step further to make it the centre piece of the village.

“We want to retain the Swan’s own identity and character. It will be the local pub where everyone can enjoy quality and healthy gastro food with monthly events. We are already working with local suppliers and we are always happy to hear about any other local businesses and suppliers who think that their products could be of any interest.”
