Punch BRMs become first to achieve BII level 4 qualification
Punch Taverns business relationship managers (BRMs) have become the first to achieve the BII (British Institute of Innkeeping) level 4 qualification.

The BIIAB Level 4 Certificate in Multiple Licensed Premises Management consists of eight modules, including communication, negotiation, business knowledge and marketing.

The group were assessed through workshops, exams and observation in the work place as well as written assessments.

Punch said that the qualification now “forms an integral part of the development programme”. The company wants each of its BRMs attaining the qualification over the next six to 12 months.

Punch HR director Jackie Burn said: “We recognise the importance of the role of the BRM within our business as they are at the forefront of providing business support to our licensees.

“We believe we have the best BRMs in the industry and we want to build on their experience through a professionally recognised and accredited qualification.

“We worked in close partnership with the BII to make sure the course met the needs of our licensees, BRMs, and our business.”

BIIAB director Cathie Smith added: “I am grateful that Punch has been so supportive in this successful and important qualification development. Well done to all involved in the delivery and achievement of the qualification itself.”
