Paint and a Pint: Win a makeover for your pub
The Publican’s Morning Advertiser has teamed up with Glidden Trade, one of the leading trade paint brands, for the third year running to give licensees the chance to win a £5,000 transformation for their pub.

This year the ‘Paint and a Pint’ competition will award one lucky pub with the gold prize, which includes a business-boosting makeover using Glidden Trade coatings and money towards a reopening party to celebrate its new look with customers.

Two second place prizes of £750 of Glidden Trade paints are also on offer to help licensees spruce up their pub and three runners up will each receive £150 worth of paint from the brand to use for their own makeover.

Previous winner Danielle Simpson from The Vallum pub in Dumpling Hall, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, said: “Winning the competition was fantastic - the makeover has given the pub’s exterior a much-needed boost. We’ve also had great feedback from the regulars and we hope it will help to encourage even more local people to visit The Vallum.”

Nicolas Guichard, senior brand manager at Glidden Trade, added: “The competition provides a great way for pubs to get a fresh lick of paint for their premises, raise their profile locally and nationally, and hopefully attract new custom.”

To be in with a chance of winning the £5,000 refurbishment, independent pub landlords and their customers should state why their pub deserves a makeover in up to 30 words. Responses, along with contact details and a photo or a video of the nominated pub, should be entered onto the Glidden Trade website.

Alternatively, entries can be submitted by email to tyvqqragenqr@gnatrevarce.pbz. All entries must be received before 5pm on 30 September 2012.
Projects will be judged on the originality of their entry, and the benefits the makeover would bring to the pub and the local area. The renovation work will be carried out in late 2012, so access to the pub at this time will be crucial.
