Yesterday was much the same as Monday and Tuesday - we were definitely up on our figures, both food and drink, and it seems that is going to be norm, so I am pleased.

I am going to increase my staff numbers for Friday because the athletics kicks in and it will be a lot busier than it has been so far this week, so I don’t want to risk being understaffed.

I don’t think I am going to have a day that tops last Friday, apart from maybe the closing ceremony, but I would be pleasantly surprised if I do.

All the deliveries are coming on time now so that issue has been sorted and it was great to see Team GB pick up their first gold medals yesterday.

When you are in the pub you don’t get much time to watch but I had a chance to see it yesterday. Hopefully we can get some more in the bag today.

I had a ticket offered to me for the hockey but I couldn’t go so I gave it to one of my staff. However, I have been invited to go up the Orbit (Olympic monument) next Thursday by the London Legacy Development Corporation, which is run by the Mayor. That will be nice as it is something I tried to do a while back but couldn’t.

I have heard that the shops in Westfield are not doing as well as the bars and the street area leading up to the Olympic Park. The shops aren’t taking as much as they anticipated, even though the footfall around there is so high.

I am still not getting many tourists in - it is mainly the support staff. If we get tourists in, we tend to get them between midday and 5pm. I don’t whether that is because they are mingling looking for other areas, or they have just got lost!
