Molson Coors is releasing a winter version of its 2.8% ABV Carling Zest variant, to capitalise on the success of the summer version.

Carling Zest with a hint of Spiced Orange will replace the lime-flavoured Carling Zest, which the brewer said had “sold exceptionally well” through the summer months after launching last March.

“Winter is a crucial trading period for the on- and off-trade. Stocking the right drinks for the right occasions is vital to make the most of events such as Halloween and Bonfire Night as well as the lucrative end of year festive season,” said brand director, Jeremy Gibson.

“This is the perfect winter beer as it provides drinkers with cold refreshment from the lager and warmth from the hint of spiced orange,” he added.

The variant will be available on draught and in bottle from 1 October until the end of March 2013 and will be supported with a £2m marketing campaign to launch in November.
