Molson Coors appoints Simon Cox as managing director of UK and Ireland business

Molson Coors has appointed Simon Cox, currently managing director, independent on-premise and wholesale to the role of managing director, Molson Coors (UK & Ireland).

He is also appointed to the executive committee of Molson Coors Europe, led by CEO Mark Hunter.

Cox joined Molson Coors in 2005 as director of Supply Chain strategy and was appointed to the board of Molson Coors (UK & Ireland) as strategy director in 2008. He also led the creation of the Cobra Beer Partnership and the acquisition of Sharp’s Brewery in Cornwall.

Mark Hunter, CEO of Molson Coors Europe, said: “Simon has been instrumental in strengthening Molson Coors’ portfolio and customer-orientation in the UK and Ireland in recent years and has the right balance of experience and determination to win that we need to see beer get back on the front foot in this crucial market.

Cox will take over his new responsibilities with immediate effect, allowing Stewart Glendinning, currently CEO of the UK & Ireland business, to transition to his new role at the helm of Molson Coors Canada.
