Called 250,000 Scovilles — Naga Chilli Vodka, the spirit is made by infusing Naga jolokia chillies, the world’s hottest chillies, in grain vodka for a few weeks.
The Scoville scale is the scale by which the heat of chilli peppers are measured, with Jalapeño peppers scoring around 5,000 Scovilles and Naga jolokia chillies scoring around one million.
Retailer Master of Malt, which is selling the vodka, claimed that it was “strongly discouraging people from purchasing or drinking this new vodka”.
