Quirky: Royal Hotel licensee Dave Ingram hopes his tree will bring in more money this Xmas
The Royal Hotel in Sheerness, Kent, has literally turned Christmas on its head this year by putting its tree on the ceiling.

Licensee Dave Ingram had the tree imported especially and hopes it will ensure the pub doesn’t lose vital covers over the festive period.

Apparently, it also keeps the health and safety brigade happy as a result of the all the baubles and tinsel being out of harm’s way.

And where did this uncoventional idea come from? You guessed it - the United States of America.

Snifter thinks a (hefty) bauble falling from the ceiling could cause more harm than a stray bit of tinsel on the floor, but full credit to the Royal for doing something against the curve to bring those extra pennies in!
