Pub dedicates room to much-loved pooch

Snifter’s heart was warmed this week upon hearing that a pub had dedicated a room to the memory of a dog who was loved by the local community.

The Jarrow & Hebburn Gazette reported how regulars to the Jolly Sailor pub in Whitburn, Tyneside were left devastated when Bobby the Alsatian was put to sleep earlier this year after suffering a series of health problems.

The pub’s restaurant area has now been renamed Bobby’s Den by owner Victor Hanson who originally took Bobby as a puppy at previous pub, the Sportsmans Arms in Sunderland.

Bobby apparently had an issue with authority figures and once earned himself an ASBO for his behaviour towards postmen, always a dog’s worst enemy.

Here’s to Bobby!
